Religious OrganizationsThe college experience provides an opportunity for the student to develop his or her value system in a non-threatened and supportive environment. In such, students are able to participate in there own personal religious practices of devotion, fellowship and worship.
Fraternities and SororitiesHistorically Greek-Lettered Organizations have assumed an active role in contributing tothe cultural, scholastic, political, service and social life of the campus and providing leadership opportunities for students. At Shaw University, Fraternities & Sororities are involved in educational programs, community service, and leadership development.

DIVINE NINEThe Pan-Hellenic Council serves as a standard-setting and implementing body for theaffiliate organizations in the areas of educational programming, community service,social functions, and the intake of new members. It also monitors and regulates theactions of member organizations as they affect campus life.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University, wasorganized to "cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, improve thesocial stature of the Negro, promote unity and friendship among college women and keepalive within the alumnae an interest in college life...."
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., founded at Cornell University on December 4, 1906, isthe first predominantly African American collegiate fraternity started in the UnitedStates. It strives to promote scholarship, manly deeds, and love for all mankind.

Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.Founded in 1963 at Morgan State University, Iota Phi Theta aims to mold young meninto viable contributors to the organization and to society. Iota Phi Theta is a member of the Council of Independent Organizations.
Nu Gamma Alpha Fraternity, Inc.Gents, LTD is a group of men coming together in a complete and all encompassing spectrum of social and business activities in an environment of total and undying brotherhood. The organization was founded in Washington DC in 1962. Nu Gamma Alpha affirms their belief in the worth and dignity of man. The Gents recognize the supreme importance of the pursuit of truth, the encouragement of academic scholarship and the promotion of true brotherhood.

Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, IncGroove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc was founded at Morgan State University on October 12, 1962. Swing Phi Swing Fellowship, IncA non-profit organization dedicated to community service, academic excellence and heightening community and cultural consciousness. The organization's specific purpose is to support women in need of growth. Support, which facilitates the attainment of goals that are necessary for personal and professional growth. The programmatic thrust of this organization is scholarship assistance and collaboration with other organizations sharing a common interest.
HONOR SOCIETIES
Alpha ChiA co-educational society, whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students, and to honor those achieving such distinctions. Alpha Chi admits students from all disciplines of study.
Beta Kappa ChiA national science honor society, that functions under the guidance of the faculty in the physical and natural sciences. Membership is based upon scholastic achievement in the sciences.
