Shaw University’s WSHA 88.9 FM will present a free
concert on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 3-6 pm in the Auditorium
of Historic Estey Hall on the campus of Shaw University.
In an effort to thank the listening community and the Shaw
University family, this “free” concert will be the “first in a
series of events that will follow on a quarterly basis presented by
WSHA 88.9 FM,” says General Manager Dr. Emeka Emekauwa. The
performance will be broadcast live over WSHA 88.9 FM, and will
feature local artists Mayhap and Baron Tymas.
Mayhap is a two-piece “experiment in funk” inspired by an annual
pilgrimage to New Orleans. The band is comprised of Brian Werner
(organ and piano) and Paul Madigan (drums and percussion), both
alumni of former Raleigh area bands Mojo, Drifting Through, and
Gambit. They have a debut CD entitled “Might Could”. (For more

at NC Central University, and head of the guitar program and
assistant director of Jazz Studies. He leads the Baron Tymas Trio
(with bassist Damon Brown and drummer Thomas Taylor), and performs
with the NC-base quintet Nebulous. He teaches at the National Guitar
Workshop’s New Milford, CT, and McLean, VA campuses during the
