
The Crowning of Miss Homecoming 2003

(Raleigh, NC) -- November 21, 2003 -- Shaw University recently crowned
Miss Angela Iris Edmond as Miss Homecoming 2003. The ceremony took
place on October 29th in Spaulding Gymnasium.
Miss Edmond is a senior psychology major from White Plains,
VA. This Dean’s List student is a member of the National Association
for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Shaw University Student
Chapter, Secretary National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Vice President
of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was
named All CIAA Cheerleader 2003, and she is currently the captain
of the Shaw University cheerleaders (Chi-Chi’s and Chico’s).
Miss Edmond expressed her commitment to Shaw University for bestowing
upon her such a distinguished title as Miss Homecoming. "As
I embark on this quest, I pledge to represent Shaw University and
meet all requirements and responsibilities with [the] honor, dignity
and pride necessary in the capacity of Miss Homecoming."
Upon graduating from Shaw University in May 2004, Miss Edmonds
plans to attend graduate school at Howard University to study Industrial
and Organizational Psychology. Miss Edmonds is the daughter of Gregory
Young and Robin Edmond, both natives of Brooklyn, NY and current
residents of White Plains, VA. |
