Shaw Football Releases 2008 Fall Schedule

Raleigh, NC – (March 5, 2008) Following an exciting year of success on the gridiron, the Shaw University Bears will kickoff the 2008 season on August 30^th against Albany State University in Albany, Georgia.

Head Coach Darrell Asberry said, “The team and coaching staff are all excited about the new season. A couple of quality teams have been added to the schedule including Texas Southern University and Lincoln University; showing the level of advancement in our program. We will play in the Capital City Classic against Texas Southern in Sacramento, California which is an excellent opportunity for us that will provide increased exposure to our program and serve in a dual role for recruiting.”

The current reigning Champions of the CIAA will begin Spring Practice on Friday, March 7^th at 4:00 p.m. at the Garner Road YMCA and Saturday, March 8^th at 9:00 a.m. The Spring Game will be held April 5^th; time and location will be announced.
