Shaw University Launches Morgan Stanley Business Lecture Series

Raleigh, NC – (September 19, 2007) The partnership between Shaw University and Morgan Stanley continues. In an innovative and progressive initiative, the Department of Business & Public Administration has successfully launched the Morgan Stanley Business Lecture Series.

Before a packed audience of students, administrators and staff in Estey Hall Auditorium, Financial Advisors Roy M. Fakoury, CFP, and Gill Reames, CFP, delivered key strategies to Business majors that included preparation for post-graduate employment opportunities; personal and corporate investment strategies; and Stock Exchange Operations and the impact on stock prices and the economy.

Dr. Mma A. Kalu, Chair of the Department of Business & Public Administration said, “Shaw University is very fortunate indeed to have a corporate giant like Morgan Stanley take the time to participate in such a major exchange with our students. In the twenty-four years that I have been here, there has never been any initiative as dynamic as this to happen. This type of company usually partners with Ivy League schools, but they have agreed to partner with us. This is wonderful for our students.”

The Series will occur monthly from September through November. “It is hopeful that we will be able to continue the Series next semester,” stated Dr. Kalu.

The excellence of Shaw University continues and this and many other exciting opportunities are in store for the students.

“Strides to Excellence: Only the Best!”
