Graduation Requirements Quick Summary
Bachelor's Graduation Requirements
- Apply for graduation (8/30 for Fall Graduates; 10/30 for Spring Graduates)
- Earn a minimum of 120 semester credit hours
- Take at least thirty (30) semester hours in residence at Shaw University (or at a Cooperating Raleigh College institution – Meredith College, North Carolina State University, Peace College, St. Augustine’s University, or Wake Technical Community College)
- Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above
- Fulfill Core Curriculum Requirements – (see your academic catalog and meet with your Advisor)
- Fulfill the departmental and major course requirements specified
(i.e., in your degree checklist issued by your major/program)
- Complete all coursework in the final semester (no incomplete grades)
- Pay the graduation fee ($175 – Undergraduate Students)
- Complete the Graduation Clearance Process and all assessments, surveys, and required departmental examinations

Master's Graduation Requirements
- Apply for graduation (8/30 for Fall Graduates; 10/30 for Spring Graduates)
- Earn the minimum semester credit hours for your graduate program:
- Master of Science in Early Child Education – 36 hours
- Master of Arts in Christian Education – 51 hours
- Master of Arts in Christian Leadership – 36 hours
- Master of Divinity – 78 hours
- Earn the cumulative grade point average for your graduate program:
- Master of Science in Early Child Education – 3.0 or above
- Master of Arts in Christian Education – 2.0 or above
- Master of Arts in Christian Leadership – 2.0 or above
- Master of Divinity – 2.0 or above
- Complete all coursework in the final semester (no incomplete grades)
- Pay the graduation fee ($225 – Graduate Students)
- Complete the Graduation Clearance Process and all assessments, surveys, and required departmental examinations
