In order to be considered for membership in a fraternity or sorority at Shaw University, every student must meet the following university requirements and be academically cleared through the Office of Greek Life:

• Must be classified as a full-time student the semester prior to and during the current semester of intake
• Cumulative grade point average of 2.7 
• Must be at the status of sophomore with 30 earned credit hours (transfer students must have completed 15 credit hours at Shaw University)
• Must have completed CASES (Cultural, Academic, Spiritual, Enrichment Seminars)
• Have no disciplinary infractions
• Applicants cannot have outstanding financial accounts with Shaw University
